Nissen Fundoplication
Preventing food from being regurgitated into the oesophagus is the goal of a fundoplication. As the oesophagus empties into the stomach, its outlet is made snugger by wrapping the upper portion of its stomach around the lower portion of the oesophagus. Nissen fundoplication is an effective surgical procedure for infants and children with gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). Dr MJ Human uses laparoscopic Nissen fundoplication, a safe and effective treatment for children with severe reflux.
Feeding Tubes
More than 300 different medical conditions can necessitate tube feedings in infants and children. A feeding tube can significantly benefit your child's development, although it may be frightening for parents. This can be accomplished by inserting a tube through a portion of the small intestine into the stomach, as is done by Dr MJ Human.
